Counselor Registration
http://capstone.cse.unt.edu/robocamp/counselor/CounsCampReg.php

This year the Robocamp programs will be 5 days in length. We will mix the content of our Echallenge camps from 2007 into the 5 day format, with approximately 2.5 days spent directly on Robotics, and the remaining period spend on engineering design, critical thinking and programming topics - all with numerous hands-on activities and experiments. Each camp will incorporate an individual or team design competition, with certificates and prizes awarded to the best designs.

We will be hosting a total of 4 open-enrollment Robocamps this year. Two of these camps will be for young women ages 14-18. The remaining two camps will be for young men in the same 14-18 age range. Each camp will be limited to 20 participants.

An additional two Robocamps will be closed enrollment for students in the Carrollton ISD for middle school and high school students. We plan to offer more of these mobile camps in other North Texas school districts in the coming years as funding becomes available.
We will also be hosting four Counselor/Teacher camps for 20 middle school and high school counselors and teachers. These camps will be two days in length.

For those young women and young men who have previously attended any of the Robocamps in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 or will attend in 2009 we are offering a 3 day Advanced Robotics Workshop that will run concurrently with our counselor camps and a 5 day Xbox game development camp.

The Advanced Robotics Workshops will be 3 days in length and offer students the opportunity to work with a number of different robot and software platforms to develop some interesting and unique designs and applications of their own. The camp will be relatively unstructured, so students should only attend if they would like to seriously pursue advanced concepts of their own creation. Several contests with prizes will be sponsored during this workshop, and students will be expected to make presentations and offer demonstrations of their work. Students will also interact regularly with the attendees at the Counselor camp. Registration is limited to 20 students per workshop with an approximate 50/50 enrollment of men and women preserved.

The new XBox Game Development Camp will be 5 days in length and offer students the opportunity to build their own video games and play them on the XBox! Several contests with prizes will be sponsored during this camp, and students will be expected to make presentations and offer demonstrations of their games. Registration is limited to 20 students per camp with an approximate 50/50 enrollment of men and women preserved.

All camp days will start at 9:00 am and end at 4:00 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided. All camps are free of charge thanks to the Texas Workforce Commission Youth in Technology Program and the Motorola Foundation.

Each participant will receive a wealth of study materials, a camp T-Shirt and other souvenirs from these fun and educational programs.
